Integration of EDI Systems
EDI (Web EDI) system implementation requires the integration of EDI technology with the existing system of document and data transmission within the company. EDI implementation specialists must then begin analyzing data circulation in both systems and design a structure that would eliminate the human influence factor in the new system. Such integration allows EDI to reduce the costs of running the business.
A perfect example of the benefits resulting from the integration is the combination of the barcode reader with warehouse programs. The barcode contains the price of the product. If one integrates the barcode reader with the warehouse program, it will be possible to check the inventory (e.g. when reading the code at the cash register) and, if necessary, send an order to the supplier immediately.
